Here’s How You Get Orange Juice Stains Out of Your Carpet

When figuring out how to get orange juice stains out of your carpet, you will need the following materials.

Necessary materials:

  • Paper towel or a clean cloth
  • Sponge
  • Liquid dishwashing detergent
  • Household vinegar
  • Warm water (not hot and boiling)
  • Ammonia
  • A heavy object

For Fresh Orange Juice Stains

Follow the steps below when you just spilled orange juice on your carpet and have a fresh stain.

Method 1

  1. Remove any excess orange juice on top of the carpet. Use a sponge or towel to soak it up.
  2. Use two cups of warm water and mix it with one tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent.
  3. Now, use a clean cloth to dab at the stain with the detergent solution.
  4. Keep blotting until the liquid absorbs into the carpet.
  5. Continue steps 3 and 4 until the stain is gone.
  6. If the stain remains, use one tablespoon of ammonia to mix with two cups of warm water.
  7. Use a sponge and the ammonia solution to blot the stain until it gets absorbed.
  8. Now, use cold water to sponge the stain and remove it

Method 2

  1. First, use paper towels or a clean cloth to clean up as much of the orange juice and stain as possible
  2. Mix one cup of warm water with some dishwashing detergent. Add the solution to the stain and blot it out.
  3. Put a solution of half a cup of vinegar and ⅔ cup of water into a spray bottle. Now, spray it on the stain.
  4. Repeat step 2.
  5. Now, clean the stain with a damp paper towel and water. Add dry towels to the area and put a heavy object on top of the towels. Leave the towels for two or three hours.
  6. If the stain is still there, add 3% hydrogen peroxide to the area and leave it for one hour (but make sure your carpet will not be bleached by the peroxide mixture. You may want to test in an inconspicuous area first).
  7. Again, add dry paper towels to the stain and weigh them down with a heavy item.

For Old Orange Juice Stains

When facing old orange juice stains, add lukewarm water to the damaged area. Use two cups of warm water with ammonia to make a solution. Blot the stain using the solution and a clean cloth. Keep going until the stain is no longer there.

Use cold water to rinse the carpet or rug. Blot the carpet until it dries. Furthermore, you may want to get carpet stain removers and leave them on for a while before blotting.
